This course covers the basics of yeast metabolism, fermentation conditions and impact on flavor compounds, and brewery yeast handling. Includes hands-on laboratory work geared towards practical brewing quality control. Gain practical tips and techniques from our staff and learn how to be your own yeast handling and fermentation expert.

The Yeast Essentials workshops are the most popular classes offered by White Labs as the instructors provide practical tips and help to turn brewers into yeast handling and fermentation experts.

The first three workshops were held in 2012, and four more were held in 2013.

A sampling of comments from the Yeast Essentials Workshop in Asheville, N.C., in May 2014:

"The White Labs Yeast Essentials course helped our brewery by providing information on how to improve yeast health, resulting in better fermentations, and most importantly, great and consistent beer."

"Now I know how easy it is to set up a lab at our brewery and how much it will benefit our products and our bottom line."
Andy Cubbin, Southern Appalachian Brewery

"The White Labs girls are a hoot!"

"Informative, technically interactive and fun."
Erik Walp, brewer, Neshaminy Creek Brewing

"The course was informative and practical. Our brewery will implement what we learned in the workshop."
