Already been through Yeast Essentials for Brewers or want more in-depth education on yeast? This two-day workshop will explore fermentation control points and how to maintain optimal yeast performance as well as develop desired flavor compounds. This course will also cover off-flavor detection and sensory of different yeast strains, as well as troubleshooting problem fermentations. Two lab sections will be included, covering details on setting up a brewery lab, brewery quality control programs, and general lab techniques to implement these QC programs.

The location for this East Coast edition is Asheville, North Carolina. (Further details below under "workshop location").

The Yeast Essentials workshops are the most popular classes offered by White Labs as the instructors provide practical tips and help to turn brewers into yeast handling and fermentation experts.
The first three workshops were held in 2012, and four more were held in 2013. In 2014, for the first time, two day and one day Yeast Essentials workshops were offered.

A sampling of comments from the first seminars:
"So interesting and informative."
"It helped me get a general overview on how important yeast analysis and control is on getting good results in our beer."
"The lab section was my favorite."
